One more week!

One more week in year 4 and there is still lots going on! I'm really looking forward to seeing all of your garden projects on Monday. On Wednesday it is dress up as a celebrity day, on Thursday it is our ice cream party and on Friday we are breaking up for the summer holidays at 1.30pm.

Class Assembly

The children in 4A are preparing an assembly about 'Neighbours' for Friday 3rd July 2009 at 3pm. We look forward to seeing you there.

Habitat Project

Welcome back everyone! I hope you all had a lovely half term break and enjoyed the sunshine. As the weather is getting warmer make sure you bring a sun hat to school if you have one and apply suncream in the morning before you come to school. Also if you suffer from hayfever make sure you take medication before you come to school, especially on Wednesdays when you are on the field at lunchtime.

This half term's project is very exciting. You need to create a garden (habitat) for insects to live in. One idea is to use a deep tray and grow some plants/grass etc and then decorate it with some small props that you would find in a garden ie: lollipop sticks to create a fence. You can be as creative as you like with this project.

This needs to be handed in on Monday 13th July 2009.

Carnival Projects

Well done to all the children who have brought in their Notting Hill Carnival projects, they have worked very hard.

Eastbury Manor Visit

We have had a brilliant day, immersing ourselves in Tudor times. We have played with Tudor toys, drawn artefacts, danced authentically, whilst considering the heavy and bulky clothing they wore. What was your most amazing fact from today?

Parent's Views

Thank you for completing the parent views sheet and returning them to me. Unfortunately no parents attended the drop in session. Because of this, Mrs McGrath and myself are offering a further opportunity to share your views and will be available next week at either of the gates both in the mornings before school and at the end of the day. Feel free to approach us and share your ideas about how to move the school forward.

India Projects

Well done to all of the children who brough in their India projects. They are excellent. We really enjoyed looking at them today and finding out lots about India.

Sudoku

Well done everyone for trying really hard with the Sudoku puzzles that have been given out for homework over the last few weeks. Now, look around in magazines, online or in puzzle books to do some on your own!

Easter Production

Children have begun to get their parts for the Easter Production and are very excited. They will be getting their scripts shortly and there will be a copy available on the school website under 'Year 4 homework'. Once we start practicing more parts will be given out to children.

Today we have been making 3d shapes.

Today, we learnt that liquids change shape.

Information Texts

Next week we will be looking at information texts. If you have any information books at home about different places, bring them in and we can look at them.

Science Investigation

Help! We need some containers to explore water and how it changes shape. Please send some in either tomorrow or Friday.
